Pope Francis appointed Father Pablito M Tagura, SVD, as the new Apostolic Vicar of San Jose in Occidental Mindoro on Dec 17, 2022.
Bishop Tagura was born on Jan 15, 1962 in Tayum. He joined Christ the King Mission Seminary in Quezon City in 1978. He professed his first vows on June 6, 1982, and his final vows on May 31, 1988. He was ordained priest on Dec 17, 1988.
In 1997, Bishop Tagura studied at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US, and was a guest professor at Divine Word College, Epworth, Iowa, (2015-2016, 2017-2019).
He has also served as Provincial Council member of the SVD Philippine Central Province.
