Pope Francis appointed Bishop Joseph Do Quang Khang, lecturer and dean of studies in Saint Joseph Major Seminary in Saigon, as coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Bac Ninh on Oct 30, 2021.
Bishop Khang was born on Nov. 7, 1965, in Thu Duc, in the metropolitan archdiocese of Hôchiminh Ville. From 1993 to 1999 he studied philosophy and theology in the Saint Joseph Major Seminary. From 2001 to 2006 he studied biblical theology at the Institut Catholique de Toulouse, France. From 2006 to 2010 Bishop Khang studied at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome.
He was ordained a priest on June 30, 1999, for the metropolitan archdiocese of Hôchiminh Ville.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Cho Dui (1999-2001) and from 2010 to the present, dean of studies in the Saint Joseph Major Seminary in Saigon, and lecturer in Sacred Scripture and Biblical Greek in the same seminary, and in the Catholic Institute of Vietnam.
On Jun 17, 2023 Bishop Joseph Do Quang Khang succeeded as bishop of diocese of Bac Ninh.
