Bishop John Bosco Panya Kritcharoen was born on December 18, 1949. He was ordained a priest on May 22, 1976.

After having completed his primary and secondary educations at Darunaratchaburi School, he pursued his studies and formation to the priesthood at Penang General College in Malaysia, where he obtained Bachelors Degrees in Philosophy and in Theology. He later furthered his studies in the Philippines (1990-1991) and in the United States of America (1994-1996). Among various responsibilities, he served as Assistant Pastor at St. Anthony Church (1976-1981): Pastor of St. James Church (1981-1990): Rector of Darunaratchaburi School and of Darunaratchaburi Polytechnic School (1991-1994): Rector of Immaculate Conception Seminary (1996-2000): Rector of Darunaratchaburi School, Rector of Darunaratchaburi Commercial School, Rector of Darunaratchaburi Poly Technic School (2000-2001). He was Pastor of St. Angela Merici Church Chombung, Ratchaburi, and at the same time Director of the Commission for the Missionary Works of the Church, President of the Commission for the Evangelization of Peoples, President of the Commision for the Pastoral Health Care, and Director of the Evangelization Centre (2001-2003).

He was appointed Bishop of Ratchaburi by the late Pope John Paul II on March 18, 2005. On May 28, 2005, he was ordained bishop.

On June 13, 2023, Bishop John Bosco Panya Kritcharoen resigned.
