Benedict Rogers
Benedict Rogers, a human rights activist and writer, is the co-founder and chief executive of Hong Kong Watch, and Senior Analyst for East Asia at Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a rights organisation specializing in freedom of religion or belief. He is the author of seven books, and his faith journey is told in his book “From Burma to Rome: A Journey into the Catholic Church” (Gracewing, 2015). His new book, “The China Nexus: Thirty Years In and Around the Chinese Communist Party’s Tyranny”, was published in 2022 by Optimum Publishing International. He received the International Religious Freedom Summit’s International Religious Freedom Champion award in 2021 and the International Catholic Legislators Network’s St Thomas More Award in 2022. Based in London, Rogers writes about issues of religion and rights in Asia, particularly Hong Kong and China, Myanmar, Indonesia and North Korea.
